As friends of Kara and Dan we want to do whatever we can to support them and love them during this difficult season.
1. PRAY. please pass on this blog, link it to Facebook or pass it on through email. please let others know about little levi and his condition. pray for continual strength for Dan, Kara, and Kade.
2. If you want to help you can give a gift. here are a few ideas: food gift cards to local restaurants or fast food near Children's Hospital, gas cards (since they will be doing a lot of driving), cards of encouragement, snacks, a financial love offering (a credit card gift card, checks, or cash). Also, Levi (he is 2 years old) will be laying on his back for several days so any sort of toy that would give him joy from a laying down position.
There are 2 drop off locations:
- 1426 Purdum lane, Escondido. Ca. 92025 (wanida maertz #619-888-9391)
- 3610 Promontory Place, Carlsbad, Ca. 92010 (jessica hunter #760-535-0122)
*Please deliver gifts by Wednesday at 7:00pm as we would like to pass them on asap.
3. Leave a comment. If you are unable to give a tangible gift please leave a comment or two on every post (you will see a comment option below). Dan and Kara will be at the hospital for days-weeks and it can become somewhat isolating. Leaving a comment of encouragement is a way to remind them that they aren't alone and are deeply loved.
Check back for more updates on Levi and his health.

ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you. My pituitary macro-adenoma was removed 5 years ago. God bless you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI hate reading this but I love the Kingdom of God we are a part of. The prayers of the saints DO reach our Father's ears and He sees, cares, CRIES for little Levi and holds him closer than any father or mother ever could. We heard of your story through Corrina Castillo and are on our knees for you as parents and for little Levi who Our Heavenly Father loves beyond comprehension.
ReplyDeleteLove and Grace to fall on you heavily!

I just came across this blog, and it has touched me. Your son and family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know it's impossible for anyone to say that they know what you are going through, but I was in a similar situation with my 2 1/2yr old. He had to have open heart surgery when he was almost 1 1/2. He was at Children's Hosp. All I can say to you and your family is children's Hosp is an amazing Hosp with amazing doctors. Unfortunately we have to put our chills life in the hands of a man, just pray and believe that everything is going to come out with positive results. Best wishes. Give your baby lots of love!
ReplyDeletePraying for peace and enduring strength for your family and for complete healing for Levi. We serve a God of miracles.
ReplyDeleteKara-Our family is continually praying for Levi and for the rest of your family to have strength and comfort during this tough time.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”- John 16:33
You don't know me, but I am friends with Nathan Teixeira from a Campus Crusade Summer project back in 1999. I saw your post on his FB page and please know that my family will be praying here in Pittsburgh, PA. I have a son Levi's age and I can't even imagine what you are going through right now. But Adrian is already a mighty prayer warrior and his childlike faith inspires me daily to ask BIG! We will pray for Levi's complete healing and the peace that passes all understanding to guard your hearts and minds during this season.
ReplyDeleteKara, Alexis told me all about Levi, and he and your family are in all the prayers of my family and friends. God is faithful, and we can find a resting place in Him alone. God Bless all of you. Love from the Card Family
ReplyDeleteKara, I just saw this and wanted to let you know that precious Levi, you, and your whole family are in my thoughts and prayers. I'll be thinking of you.

i may not be able to give you my hug in person, but know that i am with you guys in heart and am praying for Levi and all of you. I love you guys and i will be home on the next boat if you need me. bonnie (bonbon)
ReplyDeleteNineteen years ago we were in the same situation with our six-year-old daughter at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. I remember slipping away to private rooms in the hospital to cry out of range of the kids, then trying to be cheerful in their presence. The waves of fear were so huge, and faith felt so small as I got slowly acquainted with another side of God that lets terrible things happen to good people.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that brain tumor research has progressed by leaps and bounds, and I know many little kids who are positively thriving years and years later. The even better news is that Jesus is in the boat with you... the unstirred Christ, the one who holds you tightly as the waves rock your boat, and the one who looks tenderly at your son and whispers, "All is well, all is well."
Loving you across the U.S.
Our Prayers are with you and your family We will have our kids say a special prayer tonight...
